Surf Product Overview

Surf is an AI-run on-chain savings and yield management system designed to behave like a programmable, non-custodial savings account.

At its core, Surf allows users to deposit assets once and let autonomous intelligence optimise their capital across decentralised finance (DeFi), while the user retains full control, transparency, and withdrawal rights at all times.

Surf is not a trading bot. Surf is not a black-box fund. Surf is not a custodial platform.

Surf is an execution and control system where:

  • Users own their funds in Smart Vaults

  • AI plans and optimises strategy

  • A deterministic control layer enforces safety

  • All actions remain transparent and verifiable on-chain

  • Capital can be withdrawn at any time without permission

The system is designed so that intelligence can propose actions, but cannot act without passing through cryptographic and rule-based enforcement.

Core Design Principles

Surf is built around four non-negotiable principles:

  1. User custody always comes first

Funds are never held by Surf, a multisig, or an operator. They live in user-owned Smart Vaults on-chain.

  2. Automation must be bounded by rules, not trust

All execution is constrained by deterministic rules that cannot be bypassed, even by the AI.

  3. Planning and execution must be separated

AI can analyse and simulate, but only the execution layer, under Guardian Layer control, can move capital.

  4. Every action must be verifiable on-chain

All transactions are transparent on-chain, simulated before execution, and designed for safe unwind.

The Three Layers of Surf

Surf is built as a full-stack autonomous financial system composed of three tightly integrated layers.

1. User Layer – Smart Vaults

Each user interacts with Surf through a personal Smart Vault.

A Smart Vault is:

  • A non-custodial on-chain account

  • Owned and controlled by the user’s wallet

  • Isolated from other users

  • Subject to explicit execution rules

  • The only place where funds ever reside

  • Withdrawable at any time without protocol approval

The vault is the cryptographic and legal boundary of control. Surf never has discretionary access to funds.

All deposits, rebalances, and withdrawals happen within this vault boundary.

2. Intelligence Layer – AI Strategy Engine

The Intelligence Layer continuously analyses on-chain markets.

It performs:

  • Real-time scanning of lending and liquidity venues

  • Yield curve analysis and rate forecasting

  • Liquidity depth and slippage modelling

  • Incentive tracking and reward optimisation

  • Risk-adjusted return scoring

  • Scenario simulation and stress testing

  • Cross-chain opportunity comparison

This layer generates plans, not transactions.

It answers questions such as:

  • Where is the best risk-adjusted yield right now?

  • When should capital be rebalanced?

  • Which venues are becoming risky?

  • How incentives change effective APY

  • What the optimal portfolio transition path is

Crucially, this layer has no authority to move funds.

It only proposes actions.

3. Control Layer – Guardian Layer

Between planning and execution sits the Guardian Layer.

The Guardian Layer is a deterministic on-chain enforcement system that defines what is allowed to happen with user funds.

It enforces:

  • Protocol allowlists

  • Exposure and concentration limits

  • Slippage bounds

  • Liquidity exit depth

  • Rate change thresholds

  • Simulation verification

  • Invariant checks

  • Circuit breakers and emergency halts

  • MPC-based signing and permissioning

  • Transaction atomicity and batching

Every proposed action from the AI must pass through these constraints.

If any rule is violated, execution is rejected at the protocol level.

This creates a strict separation of roles:

AI can think. Guardian can approve or reject. Vault executes or remains untouched.

Execution and Rebalancing

When a rebalance is approved:

  • Positions are exited and entered only via allowlisted protocols

  • Capital movement is simulated before execution

  • Gas, slippage, and worst-case outcomes are evaluated

  • The full rebalance is executed atomically

  • No partial states, no stranded liquidity

  • No off-chain custody at any point

All capital movement happens inside the user’s vault and under Guardian Layer constraints.

What the User Experiences

From the user’s perspective, Surf behaves like:

  • A savings account for stablecoins, ETH, BTC, and, in future, gold and real-world assets

  • With automated yield optimisation

  • With no lockups

  • With full withdrawal rights

  • With transparent performance tracking

  • With on-chain proof of execution

  • With a security-first design

The user experience is intentionally simple:

Deposit. Earn. Track. Withdraw anytime.

Under the surface, a sophisticated execution and control stack is operating continuously.

Why Surf Is Fundamentally Different

Most DeFi automation systems fail in three ways:

  1. They take custody

  2. They rely on off-chain trust

  3. They lack hard execution constraints

Most AI systems fail because:

  1. They optimise without accountability

  2. They cannot be formally constrained

  3. They cannot be audited at the execution level

Surf introduces a new standard:

Autonomous optimisation under deterministic on-chain control.

This is enabled by:

  • Smart Vault isolation

  • Chain abstraction for cross-chain execution

  • Guardian Layer rule enforcement

  • MPC (Multi-Party Computation) signing

  • Pre-execution simulation

  • Atomic transaction batching

  • Continuous monitoring and circuit breakers

Product Scope

Today, Surf V3 supports:

  • Stablecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin yield optimisation

  • Automated lending and liquidity strategy orchestration

  • Horizon strategy for risk-adjusted, market-neutral yield

  • Velocity strategy for active liquidity and volume-driven yield (in partnership with ForeverMoneyarrow-up-right and CLMM DEXs)

  • League-based incentive and XP layers

  • Revenue-aligned buyback mechanics

  • Cross-chain execution under deterministic control rules (coming soon)

Surf is expanding into:

  • Gold and real-world asset vaults

  • Institutional treasury automation

  • Cross-chain savings accounts

  • AI-managed structured yield products

  • Non-custodial portfolio rebalancing

In One Sentence

Surf is an AI-run, non-custodial on-chain savings system where intelligence plans, deterministic rules govern, and users always remain in full control of their capital.
