# Surf Leagues

Surf Leagues is the incentive and reputation layer of the Surf ecosystem. It transforms vault participation, capital deployment, and protocol usage into a transparent, competitive, and compounding participation system.

Instead of passive farming, Surf Leagues rewards consistent activity, long-term alignment, and network growth.

### Season Mechanics

Surf Leagues runs in fixed-length seasons, each operating as a complete reward cycle.

Core structure:

* 90-day seasons
* Dedicated reward pool per season
* Daily XP snapshots
* Final leaderboard ranking at season close
* Automatic reward distribution based on rank

Season 2 parameters:

* Duration: 90 days
* Reward pool: 315,000 $SURF (1.5% of total supply)
* Ranking basis: XP accumulation
* Distribution: Proportional to final leaderboard position
* No manual claims or forms during the season

Genesis Season (Season 1) validated the model in production:

* 97 participants
* 743,200,000 XP generated
* 420,000 $SURF distributed
* $1.3M on-chain volume
* Competitive leaderboard until the final day

Season 2 scales this system with higher rewards, longer duration, and stronger compounding mechanics.

### Leaderboards

The leaderboard is the core coordination layer.

* Rankings are determined by total XP
* XP is snapshotted daily
* Final season ranking defines reward allocation
* Positions are transparent and verifiable
* No subjective scoring or off-chain adjustments

**This creates a continuous feedback loop:**

> Participation → XP → Rank → Rewards → Access → Higher future opportunity

Leaderboards convert usage into visible reputation and economic weight.

### XP Weighting

XP measures real contribution, not speculation.

XP is earned through:

1. **Capital Deployment**

 Yield-generating capital deployed in Surf vaults earns daily XP.
2. **Trading Activity**

 On-chain volume in $SURF pools contributes XP.
3. **Staking**

 Staked $SURF earns continuous XP accrual.
4. **Referrals**

 Direct activation bonus plus ongoing percentage of network XP.
5. **Network Compounding**

 Second-order XP from referral activity creates a long-term growth flywheel.

XP characteristics:

* Accrues automatically
* Compounds daily
* Weighted by consistency, not timing
* Immune to short-term farming spikes
* Snapshot-based to prevent manipulation

XP is not a token. It is a non-transferable reputation score that represents sustained economic contribution.

### Flyover Mechanism

Flyover is Surf Leagues’ compounding reinvestment and loyalty accelerator.

Instead of forcing users to immediately claim and exit rewards, Flyover allows participants to roll their earned $SURF directly back into the ecosystem for amplified long-term upside.

**How Flyover works:**

* Users can choose to reinvest rewards instead of claiming to the wallet.
* Reinvested rewards continue to participate in:
 * XP generation
 * Leaderboard ranking
 * Access tier upgrades
 * Future gated vault eligibility
* Flyover participants receive priority in:
 * Advanced vault access
 * High-capacity vault allocation
 * Early participation in new seasons and features

**What Flyover creates:**

1. **Compounding Participation**

 Rewards are not treated as one-time payouts, but as capital that keeps working inside the system.
2. **Long-Term Alignment**

 Users who believe in the ecosystem’s growth are structurally advantaged versus short-term extractors.
3. **Supply Sink Without Forced Lockups**

 Instead of hard lockups, Flyover creates voluntary retention driven by economic advantage.
4. **Reputation Acceleration**

 Reinvested rewards strengthen XP velocity and rank progression, not just token balance.

**Economic Effect: Flyover turns distribution into a growth engine**

> Reward → Reinvest → Higher Rank → More Access → Higher Future Rewards
This is why in early seasons, a majority of top-ranked participants chose Flyover over direct claim. It signals conviction, long-term alignment, and a shift from farming to ecosystem participation.
### Reputation and Access Model

Surf Leagues is not only a rewards program. It is the access control layer for the Surf ecosystem.

Higher XP and higher rank unlock:

* Early access to new vault deployments
* Participation in limited-capacity vaults
* Creation of advanced vault types (ETH, BTC, Gold and structured vault products)
* Higher referral leverage
* Priority access to institutional-grade products
* Future governance weight

This creates a progression curve:

> User → Contributor → Power User → Ecosystem Operator

Reputation becomes economic leverage, not just social status.

### The Incentive Flywheel

Surf Leagues aligns every growth vector:

* Users earn yield and XP through vault participation
* Referrers earn compounding network XP
* The protocol grows TVL and volume
* The token captures value through staking and buybacks
* Governance evolves with reputation-weighted participation

This transforms DeFi usage from:

> Deposit → Farm → Exit

Into:

> Participate → Compound → Rank → Access → Govern → Scale

Surf Leagues converts a protocol into an ecosystem by making long-term behaviour, consistency, and network effects the primary drivers of rewards and opportunity.
